In July 2019 we lost our beloved Son Brother & Friend Ben O'Connell.

Ben was a seemingly fit & healthy 14 year old who loved sport and showed no signs of any health issues. Half way round an assault course on an end of term outing Ben became unwell and within minutes we had lost him.

The shock & pain of this left us with no clue what to do next. However within days we were contacted by the amazing team at the Momentum Children's charity who were able to help us in numerous ways. This included arranging grief support, giving us jewelry with Ben's finger print, they even thought to bring umbrellas round the night before Ben's funeral as the forecast for the day was biblical! But in the main they have remained with us throughout the last 2 years and have provided Ben's sister Scarlett with some wonderful distractions such as teaming her up with a West End theatre buddy.

On 12th September Team Ben will be running/walking the Bacchus Half marathon at Denbies Wine Estate to raise funds for the charity. This fabulous team is made up of Ben's mum & dad, his Auntie Sue but in the main some wonderfully supportive friends
