Atacama Crossing Ultra Marathon 2013 · 3 March 2013
How do you celebrate turning fifty – simple; run Time Magazine’s No.2 in the top ten endurance competitions in the world with three mates to raise funds for disadvantaged children struck by poverty…
Lois, Andy, my mad husband, Ewan and I are Team STV Charity Appeal and will run the Atacama Desert in March 2013 to raise funds for them and the great news is every penny donated in 2012 is match funded by the Scottish Government plus every penny raised goes to the kids who need it (all admin costs of the Appeal are paid for by STV and The Hunter Foundation and we are paying our own way to run!)
In summary we’ll run an average of a marathon a day over 6 days (250km or 150 miles) starting at an altitude of 3000 metres in the driest place on the planet; 50 times more arid than Death Valley – surely worth a few quid?
Please, please donate and we’ll post horrible pictures of ourselves training then struggling in the desert! Please?
