Porterbrook Three Peaks Challenge By Rail 2023 · 15 June 2023 to 17 June 2023 ·

Railway Children has a vision of a world in which no child is lost to the streets. Across the UK, India and Tanzania, our networks provide an opportunity for us to reach children who are alone and vulnerable before they come to serious harm. Together, we’re determined we’ll leave no child behind.

Story

Team Arlo (Karen, Bessie, Emilie and Dave) will be taking on the 3 peaks by train challenge. Between the 15th and 17th June we will be climbing Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis, raising money for Railway Children.

Our adventure will start when we depart on our first train from Crewe on Thursday evening and travel to Snowdon, which we will climb overnight.

We will then head for Ravenglass to climb Scafell Pike, before a night on the train up to Fort William to climb the UK's highest mountain, Ben Nevis.

We would really appreciate any donation big or small to help us reach our target.

Meet the team:

  • Karen Bennett - Education and Youth Engagement Advisor at Community Network.
  • Bessie Matthews -  Freight train driver and Author and illustrator of Arlo's Adventures There and Back.
  • Emilie Dawson - Learning Development Manager at Platform.
  • David Savage - Community Rail officer for Community Rail Lancashire.
