On 8 June, 6 employees from AMD Solicitors will be donning their walking boots and taking up the challenge of trekking 27 miles across the Brecon Beacons in 12 hours or less. The trek will include climbing Pen y Fan, which as you may already know has a summit of 886 metres or 2880 feet and so this will not be a walk in the park but a tough challenge, both mentally and physically.
So why are they doing it? The answer is simple - to raise funds for AMD's 'charity of the year', Paul's Place.
Paul's Place is the only charity specifically supporting adults with physical and cognitive impairment in the Bristol area and like many charities relies on the generosity and goodwill of the local community.
With only two and a half weeks to go until the start of the challenge, the race is on to seek any last minute training opportunities and sponsorship donations. With probably hundreds of miles of walking between them, training for TrekFest has taken the AMD team all over the countryside including locally in Leigh Woods and Ashton Court, Portishead and further afield to the Malvern Hills and the Brecon Beacons.
If you have not yet had the opportunity to sponsor the AMD team but would like to then its not too late. So please dig deep and donate now.
