Story
At the Stennack Surgery we firmly believe in fitness as a strong pillar of good wellbeing and health. We also believe in our community. This venture is to try to bring those two things together.
This spring several of our team and embarking on running challenges in Support of Cornwall Hospice Care. Help us to make a difference and keep the amazing nurses giving much needed care to those people living with a terminal illness in Cornwall right now.
Dr Chris Chamberlain and Lydia Hale (one of our senior managers) are running Brighton Marathon in early April. Chris has run a marathon before but not for many years. I hope Lydia won't mind me saying but this will be Lydia's longest run by some distance.
Dr Hugh Savage is running the London Marathon on 23rd April, hence the headline named sponser.
Together we aim to fundraise for Cornwall Hospice Care. In St Ives we are lucky to have St Julia’s hospice very close to us. Many of our patients receive excellent care, both at the hospice and in their own homes. Without donations the Hospices wouldn’t be able to provide the excellent care that they do and we must support this valuable local resource.
As we all run in Cornwall we normally run off-road on the hilly coast path, swapping this flat roads is going to be a whole new skill. Plus the marathon distance will throw up some serious challenges. And donations will boost our motivation to get to the finish line.
