This year S.I.Opticals are supporting “Optoms Cycling for sight” who raise money for "Optometry Giving Sight" and this year they are cycling above and beyond to help raise money for those who dont have access to eye examinations or glasses.

This summer, Optoms Cycling for Sight is proud to be organising a unique cycle ride! With this year’s Tour de France starting in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, they could not miss the opportunity to experience cycling the first stage in order to raise money and awareness for the charity ‘Optometry Giving Sight.’ This stage takes riders from the centre of Leeds, through the outstanding scenery of the Yorkshire dales (with a few climbs!), finishing in true ‘sprint finish’ style in the historic town of Harrogate.

Optometry Giving Sight is the only global fundraising initiative that specifically targets the prevention of blindness and impaired vision due to not having access to eye examinations or glasses. Over 600 million people around the world are blind or vision impaired due to not having access to the eye examinations and glasses they desperately need. The money raised from our cycle challenge will be donated to training, establishing vision centres and delivering eye care and low cost glasses to these people.
