Story
In February this year we received the worst news imaginable when Max was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer, he was seriously ill in intensive care and we feared we would not get the chance to see his beautiful smile again. The wonderful staff at Great Ormond Street went above and beyond and would not give up on our boy (they knew he was a warrior). Because of them we got to spend more time with Max, creating precious memories that we will treasure forever. We got to see his smile every day. He has shown us what bravery and courage is!
Sadly Max's journey ended recently as his illness took over. He taught us more in his time here than most of us have learnt in our lifetime. We want to continue Max's story by doing what we can to help other children and families in similar situations.
So as if in Max's footsteps......
We're taking part in RBC Race for the Kids for the seriously ill children at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). Every day, 619 children and young people from across the UK arrive. The money raised from RBC Race for the Kids will help to fund ground-breaking research; advanced equipment; child and family support services and the rebuilding and refurbishment of wards and medical facilities.Over the last 10 years RBC Race for the Kids has raised an incredible £5 million for the hospital. In celebration of the 10th anniversary, Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity are hoping to raise £1 million from this year’s event. With your support we can get there.
