Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our first JustGiving page. I am one of 7 police officers from Greater Manchester Police plus our close friend Kev Sefton who are riding John O Groats to Lands End starting 29th June 2013. We are raising money for 2 charities, Macmillan Cancer and The Police Dependants Trust.

We have chosen Macmillan Cancer as all of us have been effected by Cancer at some time in our life, and have suffered the loss of a loved one. The support offered from all at Macmillan is exceptional and the assistance they have offered those effected by Cancer is second to none.

We are completing the ride in memory of PC Nicola Hughes and Fiona bone who were fatally injured in the line of duty on September 18th 2012. In the light of this tragedy we have also chosen to raise money for The Police Dependants Trust on thier behalf (please visit our second page www.justgiving.com/team-jogle2). The trust provides emotional and financial support for families of officers injured or killed in the line of duty.  We have set ourselves the target of completion in 8 days to include a visit to the Hyde memorial garden on day 5.

The planned route starting June 29th is as follows;

JOG - Inverness. 120 miles

Inverness - Perth. 113 miles

Perth - Dumfries. 118 miles

Dumfries - Preston. 125 miles

Preston - Shrewsbury (via Hyde memorial garden) 117 miles

Shrewsbury - Bath. 118 miles

Bath - Okehampton. 103 miles

Okehampton - LE. 96 miles
