Challenge 2020 · 9 May 2020

From a short sprint to an ultra marathon, whatever your distance, whatever your challenge, make every step to help us do more for sick kids at Birmingham Children's Hospital Charity.

Story

As many of you are aware our Daughter was diagnosed with a Brain Tumour in September 2019. Fortunately this was spotted relatively early during an optician appointment. Following referral to Birmingham Children's Hospital, where we received first class care, the tumour was successfully removed - all within a week of diagnosis!

Thankfully the biopsy results confirmed she wouldn't require any further treatment and she continues to lead a normal life.

For this reason we as a family will be doing as many events throughout the year to raise as much as we possibly can for this fantastic charity.

Current events include (subject to change in the current Covid climate):

  • RatRace Virtual Young Mucker - Leo will be running his first 6K
  • RatRace DW Virtual Half Marathon
  • RatRace The Wall Virtual 70 miles
  • Challenge 2.6
  • Birmingham 10K
  • Balsall Common 10K
  • Birmingham Half Marathon
  • Silverstone Half Marathon

About the charity

It's bewildering and unsettling for anyone going into hospital but especially for children and that is why we are a fundraising hospital. We raise funds to enhance the experience of our patients by providing state of the art medical equipment and facilities and creating a child-friendly environment.
