Story

Team Everest: John Egan, Mark Phillips, Cameron Glanvill and Stephen Lumley.

Thanks for taking the time to visit our fundraising page for our trek to the Everest Base Camp. This trek will take more than 12 days and put us at dizzying altitudes, and we're aiming to raise money for our two chosen charities, Macmillan Cancer Care and the Aandhimul Project, whilst on our way.

Why Macmillan?
“My mother has terminal cancer and MacMillian have been very good with both her, my father and the family. We can’t understand what she is really going through but I suspect the MacMillian nurse has pretty much seen it all and offers support in a way that, I suspect, we can't. What makes it worse is that even when well, as a bi-lateral amputee she has a lot to cope with” – John

Why The Aandhimul Project?
All cash donations we receive will be given to the Aandhimul Project, a charity supporting the small village of Aandhimul in Central Nepal which we hope to visit as part of our trek. The project works to raise money for the village's school and teachers to educate the children there, as well as installing a clean water supply for the whole village.

Thank you to Mountain Equipment for their kind donation of equipment for us to take on the trek.
