Story
That little hand in that picture has an amazing story. It started out nine-and-a-half years ago the size of my thumbnail and has led us thru so many amazing experiences that we could never imagine. It's been poked and prodded more in its first 6 months of life in the NICU than this Momma cares to think about but that part is cherished just as much as the fun parts because it brought us where we are today. That little hand has the most gentle touch when she uses it to comfort a friend or her little sister or eats M&Ms one at a time (because nothing is rushed when it comes to her), and it shows such precision when it comes to writing the perfect "o" that you would never believe its true beginnings. In most everything, Ellison just makes us better people to know what she has overcome from her itty bitty start. We owe a lot of those crossed hurdles to The Bell Center Staff for all their time and efforts invested in her first two-and-a-half years after she came home from the hospital.
With that said, another year has passed and we are preparing, once again, to run The Mercedes Half Marathon, The Kids Marathon and The Superhero 5k in less than four weeks in support of a wonderful cause and to give back to an organization that we give much credit for supplying us and Ellison the support and tools to take on anything that came our way. We would love for you to be a part of our team in any capacity- be it monetary, prayers or just well wishes for safe training and races!
The Bell Center is dedicated to maximizing the potential of children from birth to three years of age who are at risk for developmental delays and Ellison is all the proof we need that they are worthy of our time and efforts :)
Please join us for a great cause!
Love and prayers,
Donna Marie
