Story
Recently Tash's family has been rocked by lung related illness, and we want to raise money to make a difference to families going through similar situations.
Firstly, Tash's Mum (Elaine) has just been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. She has just had surgery to remove the 8cm size tumor, along with 25% of her lungs. Luckily it hasn't spread and we are hopeful that after a bit more treatment she can beat this horrible illness.
Secondly, in May her sister (Melissa) got diagnosed with pneumonia when 9 months pregnant, and suffered complete lung failure after having to go through an emergency c section for little baby Archie. This resulted in her being put into a medically induced coma and left her fighting for her life. Luckily baby Archie is doing really well and her sister is on the mend too, but it could have been so different!
Tash and I will be taking part in two events to raise money for this amazing charity!
- The British Lung Foundation Big 100 - running 100km over the course of July, hopefully completing it at the end of month whilst on holiday in the USA!
- The Manchester Half Marathon on Sunday 13th October
Please help me help them by giving whatever you can using the 'donate' button. The more people that know about British Lung Foundation, the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!
