The Christie - Manchester to Blackpool Bike Ride · 10 July 2011 ·

The Christie charity provides enhanced services over and above what the NHS funds. Your support can help us to fund life-changing and potentially life-saving projects that will benefit cancer patients both now and in the future.

Story

One unfit fat bloke (Adrian) and his brother (Alex) are participating in the Manchester to Blackpool bike ride to raise money for The Christie charity.

Having lost our mum to cancer in February 2010, we wanted to give something back to the people who have made an incredible difference during her life.  Throughout our mums illness The Christie provided much needed support and treatment which helped prolong her life and make her life easier.

The Christy charity raises money to fund projects at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust that are outside the scope of the NHS, which have included a new radiopharmacy, to communications skills training for nursing staff, a new state-of-the-art surgical robot, groundbreaking cancer research and a wig service (to name but a few).

We want to help to improve cancer treatment and make cancer a thing of the past so please sponsor us!
