Story
"The toughest thing about M.E. has got to be the agonising consistency of missing out on school all the time, not so much the work but the social interaction e.g. making friends, participating in the school play and the list goes on. When you have M.E. you don't look sick! Which means you have to constantly prove you're actually ill." Jessica, 13
Myalgic encephalomyelitis (M.E.) is a serious chronic condition that affects 250,000 people in the UK, including 30,000 children and young people. One in four people with M.E. is so severely ill that they are house- and/or bed-bound.
This year, with so many amazing fundraisers taking part in our Walk with M.E. challenge, the Action for M.E. staff team are joining them, walking 1 million steps in 100 days in honour of all children and young people severely affected by M.E.
The funds we raise as a team will go toward our services for children and young people with M.E. and their parents, to help them gain the care and support they need and reduce the isolation they too often experience as a result of the illness and lack of understanding surrounding it.
Please give what you can, thank you so much for your support.
