Story
Upside Up events are organising a circus themed fundrasing evening on 8th December 2015. Teenage cancer trust is the only charity which focuses on teenage cancer in the UK and receives no government funding. It relies solely on the public for raising money, to insure the £20 million it needs a year is raised to fulfil all its responsibilities to the teenage cancer patients is met.
A third of all teenagers who get diagnosed with cancer do so whilst in A & E, and by that time it is normally to late, with the chance of survival very slim. The money that is raised for the trust goes towards building new cancer trust units specifically for teenagers, of which they have already built 28 nationwide. Teenage cancer trust not only wants to battle cancer but also make those who are currently battling the disease, do so in more comfortable, teenage friendly hospital wards.
Furthermore to fund further research into teenage cancers, provide expert nurses and youth support coordinators. Hence our slogan for the event:
"Helping teenagers bounce back from lives turned upside down".
Alongside with the fundraising event that we are organising we also want to raise funds by any way means possible, so those of you that cannot attend or would like to donate to a worthy cause can like this page. The money you donate will be making a huge difference to those that are not only battling cancer, but to their families who are also affected by it too.
We aim to raise at least £3000 by December 8th so any donation big or small would be much appreciated.
Please share our link on facebook and email to all!
Thank you!
