Story
I'm going for the big one... The London Marathon.
This is for you, grandad. And for you, grandma. This is for all the families who have lost loved ones to dementia and Alzheimer’s.
But I'm not stopping there.
Over the course of 2023 I’ll be running, then cycling and swimming hundreds of miles to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Drum roll please (eek)…
- Sunday 23rd April - London Marathon
- Sunday 28th May - RideLondon-Essex
- Sunday 13th August - Henley Marathon Swim
Training starts 1st January, and will be non-stop until the final event in August. This is a big push - but for a big cause - and all donations will certainly give me the boost to crack on when training gets tough. A fitness nut I may be, but this one’s going to stretch me big time.

Every 3 minutes in the UK someone receives a dementia diagnosis. And it’s life-changing.
From critical research to support services - for both sufferers and their families - Alzheimer’s Society is leading the UK’s fight against dementia, and pushing the government to address the ongoing issues of those in care homes.
I never got to meet my grandma, who lost her battle to Alzheimer’s before I was born. I slowly lost pieces of my grandad as his condition deteriorated, and dementia finally won.
944,000 people are estimated to be living with dementia in the UK. And that’s expected to be 1 million by 2030.
---
No one person can change things. Fighting dementia is a team effort, and everyone who donates will be part of that team contributing to the incredible research that Alzheimer’s Society are doing, and the support to current suffered they are providing.
Millions of steps, miles, and strokes. One small step forward to a world without dementia.
To all my supporters, thank you.
And finally - please drop me a message if anyone is around and fancies coming to support me at any of these events! It is an INCREDIBLE boost having friends there, you’re the best xx
