Story

Hi and thank You for visiting my page! I’ve signed up to take on the 2022 London Marathon and I’ll be raising funds to support the Royal British Legion.

I am not a great runner. I only started running in my 50s to prove a point to my then teenage son , George . That point was that with the right mind set you can do (almost) anything.  Running the marathon will be hard work for me,  it won't be pretty and it won't be fast. Any help you can give in supporting and encouraging me to get round will be much appreciated, much welcomed. Together, with the right mind set, we can do it !

I have chosen to raise money for the Royal British Legion as the Lawless and the Taylor families have supported the annual Poppy Appeal for many, many generations.  Florence Clarke , my grandma, stood and collected donations for Poppies right into her 80s -what ever the weather! She was a dedicated, committed collector and was an inspiration to me.  I run to continue the support she gave. I also run in memory of family members who served in the forces but are no longer with us , especially , Uncle Peter, Uncle John, Big George and I run to help continue the work of the Royal British Legion who tirelessly ensure that those who served are being looked after, no matter what challenges they face.

Thank you for all your support.

Sal.
