Story
Hi and Thank You for visiting my page!
I am running the London Marathon on the 02 October 2022 for the Royal British Legion in memory of 2 of the most special and inspirational people to have ever entered my life.
My Grandads.
Unfortunately on 22nd November 2019 I lost my Grandad Alan very unexpectedly. Every year after this I decided to enter to run the London Marathon as I had motivation behind me to do it and it has always been something I’d love to do.
I was unsuccessful throughout the years until this year.
When unfortunately on the 31 January 2022 I lost my Grandad Ducks very suddenly (he’s called Hadyn but I called him grandad ducks there’s a story behind it involving the duck pond he took us to in Kelsey park) I received a call from a lovely lady at the RBL the day after my Grandad Ducks passed asking if I would like to be on their marathon team this year.
I was so shocked and very quickly accepted as for me this felt like fate, almost like my Grandads met that night and decided this is what they wanted me to do in memory of them and also probably for them to have their last laugh on me.
Grandad Alan was a member of the Petts Wood Royal British Legion for many years, and Grandad ducks served in the RAF, this is the reason for me choosing this charity to run for and the amazing work they do. Right now they are helping those who are isolated from family, facing homelessness, struggling to feed their children and are in financial crisis. They are working tirelessly to ensure that those who have served are being looked after no matter what challenges they, and the country faces. Your donation will mean they can continue to provide the life-changing support that our Armed Forces community needs and deserves.
Thank you for supporting it means so much to me!!
