Story
I’ve always wanted the challenge of doing something big! I enjoy being active and I seen the opportunity of the half marathon arise and thought I would bite the bullet! It’s local to me, and to make me even more determined to take on the challenge is that I discovered all the money raised is in aid of Cornwall hospice care. Cornwall hospice care will always be an important charity to me and my family. My lovable Gran was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2013 at the age of 62. After undergoing multiple operations and uncountable chemo sessions which she took on like a champion, she sadly lost her hard fought battle with the awful disease in February 2018. During the last week of her life my Gran was admitted to the Mount edgcombe hospice where she was given the best care possible by the most fantastic nurses. Months before hand my Gran was also admitted into St Julia’s hospice in Hayle where she spent a month in their care due to her health deteriorating. The nurses were nothing but supportive of my family, and made my Grans time there as pleasurable as it could be under the circumstances. She herself couldn’t praise the hospice enough! To return the gratitude to this magnificent charity I would like to raise as much money as I can for them.
All donations are greatly appreciated.
