Story
On the 7th of April 2021 my world has turned upside down.....I had lost the most beautiful person and my best friend... Tash was out on one of her training runs in the early hours of the morning and was involved in a devastating accident involving a passing car. She is deeply missed and has left a huge empty space in my heart and in my life.
Tash was a kind, funny and inspirational person who brought light to everything she did. She touched a lot of lives in the community and would always go above and beyond for those that she cared for. Her determination and commitment to be the best she could be inspired us all to be the same. She supported and motivated me throughout our years of friendship and I will be eternally grateful to Tash.
A few months ago a friend of mine and Tash's told me she entered the marathon and why don't I join in? My first reaction was absolutely NO WAY! TOO SOON! I don't think I can do it! I came home and it was still playing on my mind...Tasha's voice was in my head saying come on mate you can do it, it's mind over matter! I wanted to regain my love for running and enjoy it just like Tash did, to carry on doing something for both of us, carry on running those miles she no longer could...So I thought sod it life is too short lets do it. Lets do it for Tash. Running a marathon is a huge challenge for me as I am not built for long distance running, it's tough mentally and physically but I know that she is somewhere here with me every step of the way and would be very proud of what I have achieved in her memory.
This will be in memory of Tash. It will also help support the Natasha Lewis Foundation which was set up in her memory to help fund young athletes who need a helping hand into progressing in their sport. It will aid in providing funding for things such as kit, race entries, coaching, gym entries and physiotherapy to become the best they can be, just like Tash. The foundation currently supports 5 Bath Athletics Club athletes and will go to support many more with your help. This is something Tash would have been so incredibly proud of. Any donation, no matter how small, will be put to incredibly good use creating a positive legacy beyond Tash's wildest dreams. It will also mean the world to me, Tash's family and her friends.
