Dear Friends and Family,
With 496 miles of training already done, I have another 5 miles of training to complete before I tackle the Manchester Marathon on the 10th October this year, aiming for a sub 4 hour time for my first ever marathon effort all in aid of Nepal earthquake victims. Training has been hard to say the least and it has been a huge motivation for me knowing that the run is for an extremely good cause - your donations so far have really helped me along the lonely miles as well as helped contribute to an excellent cause!
As some of you already know, my family has close links to the Gurkhas, with both my dad and grandfather serving in 10th Gurkha Rifles. Back in 2015 myself and my sister ZsaZsi did our first ever event challenge, the Spartan Race, in aid of the victims of a devastating earthquake which ripped through Nepal that year destroying lives, livelihoods and opportunities for future generations.
As one of the world’s poorest countries, the impact of that Nepal earthquake is still felt keenly throughout the largely rural population today, with access to clean and reliable water a rarity, (just 1 in 10 are reported to have clean water). Unsurprisingly the associated poverty and lack of sanitation brings with it disease and further misery.
As you can see I have a challenging fund-raising target, as well as a challenging race ahead - a sincere thank you to everyone who can help support improving the lives of those less fortunate.
