As we are approaching the end of Ramadan it’s important to grab its benefits with both hands as next Ramadan is not guaranteed.
Ramadan is a time to reflect & to increase our good deeds particularly through giving to charity/helping those that are less fortunate than us.
As Muslims we are taught the importance of charity/Sadaqa in the Quran and Sunnah.
Sadqa averts calamity and increases sustenance and blessings in one’s life. Allah says in the Qur’an, “Who is it that would loan Allah a goodly loan so He may multiply it for him many times over? And it is Allah who withholds and grants abundance, and to Him you will be returned,” (Qur’an, 2: 245).
Sadaqa jariya is an important concept within Islam. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
“When a person dies, all their deeds end except three: a continuing charity, beneficial knowledge and a child who prays for them,” (Hadith, Muslim).
With these beautiful reminders I have set up a fundraiser in the beloved memory of both of my late grandfathers. Both one of the kindest, most generous and humble men I’ve had the pleasure of knowing. May Allah have mercy on their souls. May their graves be widened, sins forgiven and granted ever lasting peace and happiness in Jannah. Ameen 🕊✨ 🙏🏻
