Story
Hello everyone! I am SO excited to share that following my graduation from the University of Notre Dame in May, I will be joining Jesuit Volunteer Corps (JVC) to participate in a year of service in San Diego, California!
Specifically, I will be serving at San Diego Youth Services helping to run their day center and overnight shelter for homeless and runaway youth ages 12 to 17. This role is an amazing chance for me to learn more about case management, therapy, and advocacy for vulnerable populations as I discern a calling to the field of social work.
While serving at my placement with SDYS, I will be living in intentional community with 4 other JVs from August 2023 to July of 2024. Throughout our year of service, we will make a commitment to live out JVC's four values: spirituality, simple living, community, and social justice. These are values that I have grown to appreciate immensely over the course of my time in college, especially through my involvement with the University of Notre Dame Center for Social Concerns.
JVC is an incredible program that I truly feel blessed to be part of. Anything you can contribute toward the fundraising page linked below will help to support my service year and that of future JVs as we work to make a positive impact on the world. I am so grateful for your generosity and prayers as I begin this new adventure!
