I have chosen to join the Love Hope Strength Foundation to continue my efforts to fight against cancer and for the lives it takes.  At the end of October, I will join LHS as they launch their Sahara Rocks adventure! Sahara Rocks is a trek through the ever-changing desert landscape of Northern Africa, visiting the wonderful nomadic tribes that pepper its landscape. During our trek, I will be fortunate to have the opportunity to experience the beauty of one of the most breathtaking deserts in the world. Although it will be challenging, especially with a climb to the top of the Chigaga Dunes - the highest dunes in the Sahara, I know that keeping the memories of those I have lost to cancer will propel me onward towards my goal. 

LHS was co-founded by acclaimed musician Mike Peters, who aimed to save lives, one concert at a time. LHS gives hope to families affected by  cancer. The money raised through Sahara Rocks will support healthcare projects in Africa and help make the vision of a better world for people with cancer a reality. Over the past decade, LHS has established the 'Get On The List' program to help people with various types of blood cancer gain access to a second chance of life. To date, its foundation has registered over 200,000 people to international stem cell donor registries. Over 4,000 identified as potentially live saving donors.
