Story
As you probably know, Ian's mum passed away last October. The diagnosis and prognosis in early September was a complete shock. Still reeling from that news, Barbara and her family needed to think about how and where she would die. Her wish was to die at home, but aware that her care needs were increasing rapidly, she wasn't sure if that would be possible. It is safe to say that, along with the dedicated care of her family, it was care provided by the Marie Curie nurses that gave Barbara her wish.
I was overwhelmed by the help they provided. For three or four nights a week, they took over her care. They gave such a great gift, without ever needing to be asked. If angels exist on earth, they are surely Marie Curie nurses.
