Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

TheTankMuseum is asking anyone interested in Tanks to help raise £5,000 by sponsoring our T-62 in our New Display Hall. We have already raised over £15m but the final £1m remains to be found.

This appeal will run for 6 months – enough time to secure the funds before the new exhibition opens in Spring 2009, and will help pay for new signs in the new halls. Beside the T-62 a plaque will be displayed, reading; “This tank is supported by the generosity of visitors to Just Giving".

The T-62 was a Soviet built vehicle that emerged in the 1960’s.  Around 20,000 were produced and supplied to countries around the world.  Many have been used (and are still in use) by the armies of theMiddle East.  Our particular exhibit was captured from the Iraqi’s during Operation Desert Storm, and arrived at The Tank Museum complete with battle damage in 1993.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to support us: The Tank Museum gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Please support us now by giving what you can or as little as £2
