Hello there! Thank you for visiting my Just Giving page, my name is Tanisha and I will be running the LLMH for Tourettes Action on Sunday 2nd April. 

I have been working as a Secondary School Performing Arts teacher in the State Education sector for nearly 5 years and have noticed in the last few years a considerable increase in the amount of young people displaying motor and vocal like tic symptoms (specifically post lockdown). My role as a teacher is to ensure my studios and the stage are inclusive and safe to all. Tourettes Action do incredible work providing education resources, support, training and various other helpful methods to Young people, Parents and even us teachers (which I have been able to share with my team). 

There is often stigma attached to Tourettes/Tic like behaviour however I have been (and will continue to be) lucky to witness that even with neurological conditions, humankind can make the impossible possible. 

So let's work together to get rid of the stigma and discuss openly how neurological conditions (like Tourettes) may effect young people. My mantra is #FindYourFire - whether it be on the stage (or off).
