Story
Myself and my daughter Callie are taking on 100 miles in April! We're challenging ourselves to walk or run 100 miles throughout April while also raising money to rebuild lives after stroke.
My husband, Steve is currently in hospital after suffering a stroke on 13th March. The entire left side of his body has been badly affected and we're hoping he'll be transferred to a stroke rehabilitation unit very soon.
The support he/we have received has been incredibly humbling and we are brimming with gratitude to all our family, friends and the professionals for their dedication to helping Steve get stronger and healthier on this journey.
100 miles in April is a fun way for us all to keep active and raise vital funds to help rebuild lives after stroke. Your fundraising can help in incredible ways:• £150 could help pay for research into new stroke treatments, such as thrombolysis, a clot-busting drug that returns the blood supply to the brain that has transformed the outcomes of stroke survivors who have received it.• £250 could pay for one hour of Helpline activity, helping the families of stroke survivors support their loved ones after stroke.• £300 could enable a Co-ordinator to demonstrate how to use My Stroke Guide to a stroke survivor, empowing them to take control of their recovery and feel less isolated
