Story
WHY am I dressing up like an animal and running a painful marathon?
Because this is for an amazing cause...
With your support, WWF can continue to restore nature, protect wildlife and tackle climate change...there is no race more important!
An exciting partnership between Globeducate and WWF will impact on the education of more than 25,000 young people and their wider communities. Globeducate is one of the leading K-12 international schools´ groups in the world, with more than 50 schools in 10 countries and has launched a global agenda for change which prepares its students to become global citizens who can shape the world. Your donation will help WWF's work to tackle the most serious environmental challenges facing the planet, building a future where people and nature thrive by educating the next generation.
How did it start? A Globeducate school will inspire each student to find their voice in this world, to encourage them to understand world events, to think about their values and what is important to them, and to challenge ignorance and intolerance. A Globeducate school will create opportunities to connect with students from our schools across the world to come together, in person or online, for sport, music, arts, academic challenges and to work with others to help build a more equal, fair and sustainable world. The opportunity for students to pose questions to a panel of scientists and WWF experts on June 17th signaled the final virtual WWF – Globeducate summit of this academic year. From Canada to Italy, students and teachers gathered for an hour-long WWF Our Planet, Our Business webinar following a 30-minute viewing of the WWF film, Our Planet, Our Business. This followed other online meetings and summits which have been taking place for our students across the world with WWF since April.
The panel included our very own: Jonnie Hughes, Producer, Silverback Films; Dr Emma Keller, Head of Food Policy at WWF; Colin Butfield, Director of Our Planet Programme, WWF-UK; and Gareth Redmond-King, Head of Climate Change Policy, WWF-UK.
