Story
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, Brothers and Sisters.
I, along with many other fellow fundraisers am looking to raise a substantial amount for my charity through my own frightning Skydive which is due to take place on the Sat 29th Oct 2011. This particular fundrasing is for the Orphans of Tanzania and my very own Bangladesh.
About Islamic Help
Over the past 8 years Islamic Help has provided aid in several countries including; Tanzania, Somalia, Niger, Mali, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sudan. Our iHelp feed the world campaign is an on-going campaign, and we are continuously striving to identify solutions to tackle poverty both in the short term and long term.
In my very own Bangladesh alone, more than 20 million people have little or no access to clean water or have been affected by the floods of recent years due to rising sea water. Over 3.5 million children are at risk of contracting deadly waterborne diseases. Islamic Help is dedicated to reducing water poverty and throughout October will be campaigning to raise awareness about the issues related to it and raise funds to build further water pumps and wells
Aswell as water poverty some of the other projects volunteers will be working on will be:
- Working in local schools
This would involve volunteers finding innovative ways to communicate and teach students and distribution of schooling equipment.
- Working in orphanages
This would involve volunteers putting a smile on an orphans face and taking them to places such as the local zoo and beaches which otherwise they will not usually be able to experience. This will bring happiness and joy for children who have gone through a great deal of hardship. This will also include identifying needs of orphanages and purchasing items to make the life of the orphans better.
- Malaria Prevention
This would involve volunteers distributing mosquito nets. Mosquito nets help prevent malaria which is a major disease in Africa that kills thousands every year. This will also include educating locals on how to use the nets and some tips on how to prevent malaria in general.
- Livelihood Projects
Volunteers will identify local people who they feel to be worthy of a business given to them by Islamic Help. This would provide an income for people in need to support themselves and their family and in a lot cases it will also provide for the community through the setting up of bakeries, distributing fishing nets and giving people rickshaws in order to provide a taxi service
So come on people, lets try and raise as much as possible and help me achieve even if its the most smallest thing possible.
I hope you will help achieve my target of £600 but I want to get more and that can only be possible through your generous donation and support.
May Allah protect us all and keep us on the right path inshallah.
Your Brother
Tanvir (Emon)
