Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Right, I needed a challenge and this one came along - to run a marathon, but over 4 weeks. I could never manage 26.2 miles in one go so this gives me a chance to achieve every runner's dream in manageable chunks.
I'm doing it in memory of my Dad who died last November and who won't be there to sing Happy Birthday to me this year, something that makes me very sad even at my great age. My birthday will happen during this challenge so I hope family and friends will help me celebrate my last year in my 50s (what?!) by donating to my marathon attempt. (can't believe I've just written the words 'my marathon attempt'!!)
I'm a park runner at heart and miss my park running buddies, so I'll imagine them running alongside me as I pound round my garden in circles.
I'm proud to be part of the team at Cornwall Hospice Care and £20 pays for one of our nurses for an hour, so for every £20 I raise I'll be pushing on to my marathon goal. Watch out for updates on my Facebook page.
Thank you everyone and for those who know me well, this will be a medal (should I be successful) that I'll be wearing for months!
