Walking the Saxon Shore Way for Happy Pants Ranch, 7 November 2020
The Happy Pants Ranch sanctuary is in jeopardy as it is losing the land and house where it's 350+ rescue animals live! We desperately need your help to raise funds to relocate and secure it's future! Please donate if you can and help Save The Ranch!

Story

In an effort to experience more of the Kent countryside and get a little fitter I have decided to walk the Saxon Shore Way. The way runs from Gravesend, around the coast to Hastings, following the shoreline as it existed in Saxon times.

I shall mostly be navigating via vegan cake sellers and chip shops.

The intention is to walk a few miles each weekend (if the weather isn't too awful) and I may have a dog and/or friend with me at different times on the way. Al did not even contemplate joining me but he will fulfil the very important role of support driver - dropping me off and picking me up for each part of the walk.

I'm going to do the walk in any case, but if you'd like to use it as an excuse to donate some money to the wonderful Happy Pants Ranch animal sanctuary, then it would be much appreciated.

I'm pleased to already support Happy Pants through Smug Vegan Clothing, my T-shirt company, as I donate half of all profits, and I hope to add a little extra to their pot through this walk.

About the Ranch and their situation (from Amey the founder):

For the first time since The Happy Pants Ranch animal rescue charity began almost 7 years ago, the future of sanctuary is in danger, as it is being forced to relocate. So the charity must now raise enough funds to buy land to relocate the sanctuary to and secure its future, which is is why we're asking for your help and support to do this.

The £200,000 we need to raise will allow the charity to purchase new land (minimum of 8 acres) and help go towards the cost of the move and any immediate development required on-site, i.e. water, electricity, fencing and shelters etc.

Although it seems like a huge amount of money if every person who followed The Ranch on social media pledged just £8 each, with 25,000 fans, the target would be easily met! Yes, it'ss a big feat, but I believe it's possible! This amazing little safe haven WILL be relocated so it continues helping needy animals and people!

Thank you so much for all your support!
