Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have set myself a challenge of doing 50 races in my 50th year - from my 49th birthday on 9 December 2019. The races I will be doing include the London Marathon, 2 Ultra Marathons (32 miles around the Vale and a 50 mile run around the Gower), 9 half marathons, a 30k race, numerous 10k races and Park Runs. All races must be a timed run and these will not include my usual training runs in the week.
Mum was diagnosed with Alzheimers last year and this came as a huge shock to us all. The Alzheimer's Society put us in touch with the Forget-me-not Choir and from the moment we walked into the room, we were made to feel like part of a very special family. My sister, mum and I attend every week and we all absolutely love it.
The Forget-me-not Choir is a truly inspirational charity that uses the power of song to bring joy to people with dementia and their families.
Each week, 9 choirs across Wales meet to sing, rehearse and have fun, led by a team of professional musicians under the directorship of Kate Woolveridge, the choir's artistic director, mezzo soprano and previous recipient of ITV1 Lorraine's Inspirational Woman of the Year award.
The Forget-me-not choir aims to empower both people with dementia and their families to use song to express themselves, using the power of music to provide a sense of normality, and to give families a positive experience of being together.
