Rachel and I have been best friends for many years now and have been through so many ups and downs in our lives in that time, sharing much laughter and tears along the way. One the toughest times without a doubt was Rachel's mum's battle with pancreatic cancer. She faced it with such bravery and dignity but devastatingly lost her battle in 2017. She spent her final 3 days in the amazing care of Oakhaven Hospice which provided much solice to Rachel and family, and will always hold a special place in their hearts. I have the privilege of working for Oakhaven and in my short time there so far have been blown away by the amazing services and support they offer to people both within the hospice and the wider community and with a running cost in the millions we really want to do our bit to help. So with many a raised eyebrow ( neither of us likes heights and I hate lifts!!) We are going to abseil doen the Spinnaker Tower in memory of Sonja and to raise vital funds for this truly special Hospice.
