Story
Hey, I am Talia, the founder of I got back up, an organisation that talks with people coming back from life-changing events, journeys and recoveries.
In August 2021 I was in a road accident, I fell off an electric scooter and hit a bus. I didn’t walk for 10 weeks, had knee surgery in September 2021 and had double knee surgery in February 2022.
Having only started running again six months ago (and never being much of a runner) I decided to take on a new challenge. Something my whole life I said was impossible, I was scared I would fail and I don’t want to put my body or mind through it – So, in April I will be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon.
I decided to come face to face with my fear and quite literally run towards it, instead of away from it. I am running to show myself just what I am capable of and I am also running for every one of you on your journey and everyone affected by breast cancer.
I lost my nana and her sister, my auntie to this horrible disease. Two incredibly amazing women who were taken from this world and my life way way way too soon.
So, I would absolutely be beyond grateful if you could please donate to this amazing charity I am running for, Breast Cancer Now, every penny makes a difference.
Thank you, and remember never give up and face your fears, some pretty cool things happen on the other side.
There is always hope.
