14.3 million people live below the poverty line in the UK. This causes a lot of people to go hungry, and here at Muswell Hill Synagogue we want to make a difference. We are eating on a budget for 5 days each to experience what its like to really live in poverty. This will give us an insight into how people live on a daily basis, and help us understand the struggles of those less fortunate than us.
"As soon as lockdown began, it was going wrong for me." This is a quote from Ceyda that highlights the hardships people have faced, specifically since the beginning of the lockdown, where many people lost their jobs, and though more people needed help than ever, it became distinctly less available. This is one of the many reasons why we chose to support our local food bank.
In this venture we will be focusing on raising awareness and giving ideas on how everyone can help out in their own way.
