Three Peaks Challenge 2007
16-17th June 2007
Dear All,
WE DID IT !!! With minutes to spare we completed the 24 hour National Three Peaks Challenge. Thanks again for all your support throughout our campaign. We couldn't have done it without you all !
Weather was ideal for walking; dry, cool conditions. It was a real shame about cloud cover as the views were few and far between! We managed to keep to our schedule with a 17 seater minibus fitted with a speed limiter to 62Mph! Apart from roadworks on the A55 and a close call with a stag in the Highlands all went without a hitch.
Snowdon - 3 Hours 40 minutes
Scafell Pike - 3 Hours 20 minutes
Ben Nevis - 5 Hours 5 minutes
Thanks again,
Tom
About our Challenge
The challenge involves climbing to the highest points of Britain's three highest mountains: Snowdon (978 m) in Wales, Scafell Pike (1085 m) in England and finally Ben Nevis (1344 m) in Scotland in a time of 24 hours. Mini bus transport will be in place to whisk the team between each peak. This is a marathon style endurance walking event with a total walking distance of 27 miles.
So you think that we're crazy? So do we, that's we we're quite literally 'takin' the peaks!'
