Claire, Elie and Meghan

Jumpstart my Service Year 2023 · 1 June 2023 to 1 June 2024 ·
Jumpstart the Tacoma JVs! These volunteers have dedicated a year of their lives to serve with JVC Northwest. As such, they have committed to living the four values of Community, Simple Living, Social & Ecological Justice, and Spirituality/Reflection. Your gift goes into a communal pool which helps support their formation and keep fees low for the nonprofits they serve. Help them reach their goal of receiving at least 9 donations of any amount to their page!
Meet the Tacoma JVs:
Claire (she/her) is from Saint Meinrad, IN and will be serving as an INI Associate with L'Arche Tahoma Hope.
"I serve because I want to immerse myself in a lifestyle of intentionality, simplicity, and continued discernment. My previous service experiences motivate me to continue serving in a way that is more intentional and committed and is what made me choose to become a Jesuit Volunteer. Through previous service experiences I have been shown that I am able to feel a real connection with people and learn about life experiences different from my own."
Elie (she/her) is from Seattle, WA and will be serving as a Farm Associate at L'Arche Tahoma Hope.
"I serve because I want to do something useful and learn about the world."
Meghan (she/her) is from Chicago, IL and will be serving as a Shelter Program Specialist with Catholic Community Services of Western Washington.
"I serve because the connection and community that is born out of service brings me a great deal of peace. My experiences serving have felt expansive, and I feel that I gain so much by giving back."
