Story
On Sunday 2nd October, I will be running the London Marathon for the second time. You'd think having already run the 26.2 miles back in 2019 the fear would have diminished slightly, but instead I am utterly terrified, perhaps even more so than before. Whilst the pressure to beat my previous time feels enormous, this year I simply want to cross the finish line with a smile on my face whilst raising money for a fantastic cause and person.
This year I have chosen to run for the Alzheimer's Society, a charity that has become very close to my family in recent years following my wonderful Grandpa's diagnosis. The Alzheimer's Society is a fantastic care and research charity for people with dementia and Alzheimer's whose aim is create a powerful force for change for everyone affected and ensure those affected are supported.
I have to admit that prior to Grandpa's diagnosis a few years ago my knowledge around Alzheimer's was rather lacking, but seeing how it has not only affected Grandpa's quality of life but his wife, children and grandchildren has made me realise how important the research, treatment and support is for everyone involved.
Those of you who have met my Grandpa will know he is the kindest, warmest, loving and generous man - he really is one of a kind! If you could be so generous and support me, grandpa and of course the millions affected by this disease by donating to this incredible charity I would be hugely grateful! Any donations large or small will go such a long way.
Thank you so much in advance! Wish me luck!
Lots of love, Tabs
