Story
I will be undertaking something slightly different - a 24
hour painting marathon, a paint-a-thon, if you like. In that time, I will
assemble and paint, from start to finish, a whole “Start collecting…” box of Warhammer miniatures. The box will be auctioned on completion.
This year marks the 10th Anniversary of my friend’s passing. He loved music, curry, Chelsea FC and, most of all, his family and friends. Through my friendship with Tony, I made lifelong friends, met my wife, and started a family. Tony (pictured) was the glue that held us together. Still does even after all these years. Smart, charismatic, goofy, he always had time for you. He was one of my best friends, I owe him so much.
The staff at St Christopher’s cared for Tony in his final days. They created a haven, a wonderful, peaceful place. I have fond memories
of the gardens at St Christopher’s. Enjoying the sun, good company, and
laughing creating memories I’ll cherish forever. So, it is with immense
gratitude that I am fundraising for St Christopher’s Hospice. The commitment, expertise, care and compassion of the staff left a lasting impression. In the words of their founder, Dame Cicely Saunders: You matter because you are you and you matter until the last moment of your life.
Every pound you raise really does make a big difference.
Here are a few examples of how your donation can help: £10 could pay for a haircut for a patient, £25 could pay for arts and crafts materials for patients to express themselves and whatever emotions they may be feeling through art therapy, £80 could pay for one of our nurses for a day, providing personal attention and expert care for our patients, £100 could pay for a group therapy evening session for bereaved children and young people.
Every donation helps. For those less able to donate, please share on social media. A little goes a long way and will support St Christopher’s continue their amazing work.
