Story

1.6 million women experience domestic abuse each year. Running this race for Women's Aid is our small way of trying to reduce this horrendous statistic and help eradicate gender based violence.

By donating to our fundraiser, you will be supporting Women's Aid's efforts to directly support survivors e.g., the confidential online Women's Aid Live Chat, the Survivors’ Forum, and email support. Your donations will also help Women's Aid campaign to achieve change in policy, practice and awareness, encouraging healthy relationships and helping to build a future where domestic abuse is no longer tolerated. Just £10 can fund a life-changing conversation between a Women's Aid support worker and a survivor of domestic abuse.

Sydney's story -

As a feminist working in the Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) sector, and a keen runner, I am proud to be participating in the Great Bristol 10k on behalf of Women's Aid. I cannot express enough how important the work of Women's Aid is for survivors and the impact your donations will have on the lives of so many women and girls.

Tom's story -

Running a 10k race in aid of a charity has always been a personal goal of mine. I am honoured to be running this race on behalf of Women's Aid and supporting my amazing fiancé Sydney who works at the organisation. Working in the employment law sector as a paralegal for the last year and a half has made me acutely aware of the issues facing women, such as gender based violence, and I am proud to be doing my bit to tackle these inequalities.
