Story
Growing up in Seattle, the phrase "the mountain is out" was frequent in my vocabulary. I spent my childhood summers at a Girl Scout Camp on the edge of Olympic National Park. This is where my love for the outdoors began.
These days I enjoy Washington's parks often: hiking, climbing, backpacking, and photographing the beautiful landscape. One of the things that makes the national parks so special is the opportunity to chat with park rangers and learn about the land we are visiting. I remember learning about animal skeletons in Olympic National Park, buffalo migrations in Yellowstone National Park, and geology in Canyonlands National Park. These are all experiences that are unique to our national park system and make each visit special.
This summer, I am giving back to the parks I love so much. I am participating in 2023 Climb for a Cause and raising funds to support priority projects in the national parks here in Washington by climbing Mount Rainier (14,411′).
The parks give so much, please join me in giving back to these magnificent places and help to make a lasting difference for Mount Rainier, North Cascades, and Olympic National Parks. The more people that know about Washington's National Park Fund, the greater their impact, so please spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot to the many who use national parks!
