Story
Dear Family, Friends and Colleagues,
Once again....
Many of you will remember me taking part in this event in 2006, 2008 and 2009 with the Neptune's Hall pub in Broadstairs and thanks to all the help of all my generous friends, I have raised over £2700 for the The Starfish Appeal.
Well, I am asking you all to dig deep once again and help me to smash that target for New Year's Day 2010 when we will be doing it all once again.
We'll be meeting for a warmer-upper-er at The Neptune at 11am (Extra Cold Guinness, something like that...!) and wander down to Viking Bay, Broadstairs for the swim at noon. Not sure at this stage whether we have low tide or high tide....!
I know many people run marathons and walk or swim miles and I take my hat off to those people. This event, whilst less strenuous is nonetheless for a tremendously good cause.
The Starfish Appeal is aiming to raise £1 million to refurbish the Paediatric Liver Centre at King's College Hospital.
I appreciate all of your efforts here and am grateful for any donations of any size. By the way, if you want to sign my offline form, this can be found in my pocket so let me know if that is the case.
Cheers all and Swim, Lodgey Swim!
Ian
P.S. I have been assured by The Starfish Appeal that all of your generous donations will go specifically to The Starfish Appeal and not to the more generic King's College Hospital Charity.
