Lara was a dear friend of mine who sadly passed away on the 17th of June, shortly after her 22nd birthday. This was the result of her epilepsy that she had lived with since she was 3 months old.

Many people who knew Lara had little understanding of the severity of her condition including myself. This is one of the reasons I have chosen to organise a sponsored swim for Lara, as it will raise awareness and funds for much needed research into this terrible condition that many people have to live with.
