Diabetes UK is the charity leading the fight against the UK's devastating and fastest growing health crisis, working to create a world where diabetes can do no harm. It’s a fight that involves all of us – sharing knowledge and taking diabetes on together. Join us.

Story

Between 22nd February and 22nd May we will swim the equivalent to the english channel in our local pool, The Billingham Forum, and are hoping to get sponsored for every length. Thats 3 months to cover an incredible 22 miles!

So we are putting our goggles and swim caps on to raise as much money as we can with a little help from Poppy. She has recently been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and  wanted to raise some money for Diabetes UK. What better way to do it than her favourite thing to do in the whole world, swimming!

Type 1 Diabetes is an autoimmune condition, which means you need regular insulin injections to keep your blood sugars normal.
