Story
Hi friends! 👋
As some of you may know, Congenital Hyperinsulinism International (CHI) is an organization that is near and dear to my heart as it affects the family one of my closest friends, Hannah.
Hyperinsulinism (HI) causes dangerously low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) in newborn babies and children, and can cause preventable, irreversible brain damage. The disease is so rare that only a handful of hospitals around the world have expert knowledge to provide specialized care to children with HI.
Tomorrow's (virtual) Sugar Soirée will bring together CHI supporters together to celebrate the strength of the community of individuals born with HI, their families, and the specialists tirelessly working for better treatments and cures.
In honor of this year's Sugar Soirée, my friends and I on the Junior Committee are teaming up to raise $5,000 to support CHI Benevolence Programs so that children with HI are able to travel and access the best possible care.
Please considering donating, even a little contribution can make all the difference. 💜
Love,
PK
Funds raised at the Sugar Soirée will support the work of CHI to:
*Raise vital awareness of HI to end preventable brain damage and death from low blood sugar.
*Advance new research with the patient-powered research study, the HI Global Registry and pilot clinical research grants. The goal of all CHI research is better treatments and a cure.
*Help patients gain access to specialized treatment, medications, supplies, and to support those living with the disease and their families every step of the way.
