Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page where I am fundraising for a truly amazing charity, Young Lives vs Cancer. Every day, 12 children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. When a child is diagnosed, life becomes full of fear, for them and their family. Fear of treatment, but also families being torn apart, overwhelmed by money worries, of having nowhere to turn and no one to talk to. That’s where Young Lives vs Cancer steps in. They help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them.
So I ask you, can we all face it all together? Can you consider making a donation as I run the 26.2 miles of the London Marathon to support their great work and together we can make a difference to children facing cancer.
Young Lives v Cancer is a particularly special charity to me as I personally witnessed the love, care and support they provided for two courageous pupils who were part of the school communities I am associated with, Grace Gaskell and Jessica Macqueen. Both were remarkable and courageous young children who never lost hope, despite all the challenges they faced in their young, and sadly all too short lives.
Grace belonged to St Joan of Arc Catholic School when I was the Headteacher. Jessica was a pupil at Holy Rood Catholic Primary School in Watford. For those of you who knew or remember our 'Amazing Grace', or the 'Holy Rood Angel', please donate what you can to help keep the beautiful memories we all hold of Grace and Jessica alive, secure in the knowledge they both lived life to the full and are now at peace.
