TrekHER50
Campaign by Refuge (RCN 277424)
Team Refuge will be taking on TrekHER50 to raise funds for the UK's leading charity for survivors of domestic, sexual and gender-based abuse.

Story

We are two lifelong friends who work in front line services supporting women and children.  We both feel passionately about what we do.  So much so, that we signed up to do a Himalayan Trek this October to raise money for Refuge.  Domestic abuse affects one in four women and the impact on children is huge.  By taking ourselves well outside our comfort zone (the reality is starting to hit - camping, no showers, some toilets, 8 hours trekking a day, at altitude, the potential for a multitude of undignified scenarios).  We are hoping to raise £8000 for vital services for women and children.  We thank you for either contributing and taking part in a fundraising event, or by sponsoring us.  And a huge thank you to Kora for providing us with the most amazing Himalayan born activewear - using locally sourced Yaks wool to develop high performace trekking gear.  There is no such thing as bad weather - just bad kit!  So thank you for making sure we are well prepared.  Also, rather helpfully, its odour resistant!
