Story
Hi Guys,
We are doing a 10K Tough Mudder this October to raise money to help support our good friend Hannah in adapting her home to make it more suitable for William.
William is five years old and was born with very rare genetic condition called Allan-Herndon-Dudley Syndrome (AHDS). The condition only affects boys and it is estimated that approximately 320 boys are living with AHDS around the world.
William has a mutated gene which didn’t allow the thyroid hormone to access the nervous system which has caused global development delay. He is unable to sit, stand, roll or support his own head for longer than a few seconds. He is also non verbal and registered partially sighted.
In spite of his condition, William is such a happy and sociable boy. As he is growing, William is becoming heavy and cannot support himself, so it is becoming essential that some adaptations are made to his home to ensure a comfortable future.
Hannah is currently in the the process of creating an extension which will consist of direct level access, wide hallways and wide doorways, a fully adapted bedroom, wet room, plus a therapy and sensory room, all with hoisting systems in place and specialist equipment.
As such, any contribution will be gratefully received and will make a huge difference! .
Thank you so much,
Claire & Suz xxx
