Story
Thanks so much to everyone who supported me and the other Random House runners at the Royal Parks half marathon. It was a fantastic day. I ran the course in 1.50, after going off a little too hard & falling over after 10 miles - oops! Thanks to all of you, I've now raised over £700 for our team fundraising effort for Shooting Star Chase.
Shooting Star Chase is a local charity who provide care & support for families with a child or teenager not expected to reach their nineteenth birthday.
They provided a lifeline to the family of Peter Bowron, a Random House colleague whose daughter was born with a rare chromosomal defect. Sadly, Peter himself suffered a fatal heart attack in 2009 at the age of 40.
37 of us from Random House are running the Royal Parks Marathon, and we each hope to raise at least £400 for Shooting Star Chase. I'll be more than grateful for any contribution you can make to help me reach my personal £400 target to support this incredible charity.
You can read more about Shooting Star Chase, their children's hospices and the support they provide to families on their website.
